Details:

  • This Lagoon point of interest initially started out as a large terrace farm, but was turned into more of a hillside in order to make it easier to traverse.

  • The first step involved using height brushes to sculpt the bulk of the hillside farm’s terrain, then adding splines to form ridges, row crops, paths, roads, and various details.

  • Brushes were also used to designate areas to receive texture mapping, and for procedurally generated elements, like trees, wild flora, rocks, and boulders.

  • Shared prefabricated buildings were provided, which I laid out and adjusted to form the farmstead.

  • More brushes were then used to blend together and integrate the structures and land features to give the area a more lived in, natural feel.

  • Further set pieces were added later by the environment artist, such as the vehicles, farm equipment, more plants and rocks.
